◢◢ Sign-up Killswitch

The What

We need to have access to a fail-safe mechanism—a "kill switch"—to halt the sign-up process in the event of a surge in fake account creation on the platform.

This feature should prevent any accounts from being created while the "kill switch" is active, and preserve system stability.

The How

Passwordless

  1. Head to the "passwordless" section of Auth0
    • https://manage.auth0.com/dashboard/eu/justabout/connections/passwordless
  2. Click "Email"
  3. Scroll to the bottom and make sure "Disable Sign Ups" is turned on.

Social login (Google, Apple)

  1. Head to the Social section in Auth0
    • https://manage.auth0.com/dashboard/eu/justabout/connections/social
  2. Click on the first item in the list (i.e. Apple)
  3. Click the "Applications" tab
  4. Make sure all of the items in the list are turned off
  5. Repeat for other social providers (i.e. Google)
