◢◢ Stand-ups
Morning stand-ups are a simple way for the team to align our goals for the day and provide a clear understanding of our progress towards the weekly objectives.
This guide will help team members understand how to efficiently communicate in the async stand-up.
What To Share
During our morning stand-ups, please focus on two key aspects:
- Today's Tasks: Provide a concise summary of the tasks you'll be working on during the day. Include enough detail to make it clear what you'll be doing, but aim for brevity to respect everyone's time.
- Alignment with the Weekly Goal: Articulate how your tasks for the day feed into our current weekly goal. This helps all team members understand the big picture and how individual work contributes to our collective success.
- Blockers: If you have any blockers that directly effect your ability to do work towards this weeks objective, state it in your message and tag a colleague to get help.
What Not To Include
While it's essential to understand what everyone is working on, it's also important to maintain focus and efficiency during these comms. As such, please adhere to the following guideline:
- Yesterday's Accomplishments: Please refrain from sharing what you accomplished the previous day. While we value all contributions and achievements, this morning stand-ups are designed to look forward and plan for the day ahead, not to look back.
Note: If there's important information from yesterday's work that impacts today's tasks or the weekly goal, consider sharing it.
How To Share
Please share your morning stand-up in the #product-standup Slack channel before 10am.
